# Ray and ClickUp

> Same job, in ClickUp's lists and spaces.

Ray is an AI teammate that works in your team chat, on Slack today. Connect ClickUp and it can do the ClickUp part of a request without anyone leaving the conversation: read what it needs, draft the change, and post it for approval before anything is written. 12 reads run without asking. 3 actions wait for a human approval.

## What Ray reads in ClickUp

Reading changes nothing, so Ray never stops to ask whether it may look something up.

- Tasks, lists, spaces, and members

## What waits for your approval

Every one of these posts an approval card in the thread showing exactly what is about to happen. Nothing runs until someone clicks approve, and no setting turns that off.

- Create a task in the right list
- Update a task's status, assignee, or dates
- Comment on a task

## Things Ray is never handed

These are left out during curation, so they are not something Ray could do and decides against. They are not in front of it at all.

- Delete a task, list, or space

## Ask it like this

- "@Ray put that on the design list and assign Priya."
- "@Ray what is still open on the sprint list, and who has the most?"
- "@Ray comment on that task that the design is approved."
- "@Ray move the billing bug to done and tell me what is left."

## Connecting ClickUp

Every person on the team connects their own ClickUp account on ClickUp's own login screen, so Ray can only reach what that person can already reach, and the history in ClickUp shows who actually asked. Passwords never pass through Ray. Disconnecting ClickUp or uninstalling Ray revokes the connection.
