# Ray and Dialpad

> Read what a call decided without listening to it again.

Ray is an AI teammate that works in your team chat, on Slack today. Connect Dialpad and it can do the Dialpad part of a request without anyone leaving the conversation: read what it needs, draft the change, and post it for approval before anything is written. 21 reads run without asking. 1 action waits for a human approval.

## What Ray reads in Dialpad

Reading changes nothing, so Ray never stops to ask whether it may look something up.

- Calls, their transcripts, and the labels on them
- People, contacts, call centers, and who is on duty

## What waits for your approval

Every one of these posts an approval card in the thread showing exactly what is about to happen. Nothing runs until someone clicks approve, and no setting turns that off.

- Send an SMS, with the number and the exact text on the card first

## Things Ray is never handed

These are left out during curation, so they are not something Ray could do and decides against. They are not in front of it at all.

- Start, transfer, hang up, or record a live call
- Change offices, call routing, IVRs, or anyone's phone
- Read per-agent coaching statistics

## Ask it like this

- "@Ray what did we agree on the call with Acme yesterday?"
- "@Ray text Dana the address for tomorrow."
- "@Ray who is on duty in support right now?"
- "@Ray pull the transcript from this morning's call with Northwind."

## Connecting Dialpad

Every person on the team connects their own Dialpad account on Dialpad's own login screen, so Ray can only reach what that person can already reach, and the history in Dialpad shows who actually asked. Passwords never pass through Ray. Disconnecting Dialpad or uninstalling Ray revokes the connection.
