# Ray and Prisma

## What Ray reads in Prisma

Reading changes nothing, so Ray never stops to ask whether it may look something up.

- Projects, databases, and the workspaces around them
- Database usage and available backups

## What Ray writes

Ray reads Prisma and answers from it in the thread. Writing to Prisma is not switched on yet, so there is nothing to approve.

## Things Ray is never handed

These are left out during curation, so they are not something Ray could do and decides against. They are not in front of it at all.

- Run SQL against a database
- Create or delete a database, project, or connection
- Transfer a project to another workspace

## Ask it like this

- "@Ray when was the last backup of the production database?"
- "@Ray how much are we using on the production database this month?"
- "@Ray which databases are in the staging project?"
- "@Ray what regions can we put a Postgres database in?"

## Connecting Prisma

Every person on the team connects their own Prisma account on Prisma's own login screen, so Ray can only reach what that person can already reach, and the history in Prisma shows who actually asked. Passwords never pass through Ray. Disconnecting Prisma or uninstalling Ray revokes the connection.
